Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez, holder of the World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Council (WBC), and World Boxing Organization (WBO) belts, seeks to regain his International Boxing Federation (IBF) title against William Scull to once again become the undisputed super middleweight champion. Who will win the fight? Here are all the results from the boxing card taking place this Saturday, May 3, at the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Canelo, 34, lost his IBF belt in 2024 after refusing to fight the Cuban in favor of Edgar Berlanga.
When the Mexican refused, Scull challenged Russian Vladimir Shishkin for the title, defeating him by unanimous decision after twelve rounds.
The Mexican expressed today that he intends to offer a different version of himself this Saturday. “I’m preparing to make history,” he added. Saturday’s fight will be the Mexican’s first outside of North America and the first of a multi-million dollar four-fight contract signed with a Saudi Arabian promotion company.
“Everyone talks trash before the fight, but when they get in the ring with me, it’s something different. He’s going to feel something different, for sure. It’s not different for me, but it is for him, and he’s going to feel it, believe me,” Álvarez added.
